The nine-strong team are not counterterrorism police or MI5, but volunteers for the charity Hope Not Hate who have led the battle against Britain’s rising far-right terrorist threat.

When Rosie Cooper, the Labour MP for West Lancashire who was the target of a neo-Nazi murder plot, spoke of her ordeal in parliament this week she praised a man who turned on the terrorists he had come to know as friends.
